Create and connect
- Create a base and give it a descriptive name of up to 120 characters.
- Open Manage sources and upload documents or write text.
- Connect the base to this agent using its switch.
- Add the Knowledge base tool in Tools and explain when to search.
- Publish tool changes, then test questions with known answers and questions absent from your sources.
Supported sources
Text sources support Edit content and Save changes; read-only users see View content. PDFs can be viewed in the app. Uploaded files are updated by removing the old source and uploading its replacement.
Removing a source affects every agent connected to the base. Deleting an entire base also has shared impact; review its connections first.
Organize information
Keep core behavior, escalation instructions, and short essential facts in the prompt. Use bases for longer catalogs, policies, and manuals. Give documents clear names and remove obsolete or conflicting versions. For spreadsheets, ensure rows remain understandable with their headers. There is no URL ingestion or website crawler in this screen. Upload a supported export or paste the relevant text. There is no standalone retrieval tester; validate through a test call. The app does not display a per-file size limit, so split large documents if uploads fail.Frequently asked questions
