# Remove Tag from Contact

> Remove a tag assignment from a contact

Removes a tag from a contact. The tag itself is not deleted — only the assignment is removed.

## Headers

  Your API key for authentication. Found in your dashboard under API settings.

## Path Parameters

<ParamField path="contactId" type="string" required>
  The UUID of the contact.
</ParamField>

<ParamField path="tagId" type="string" required>
  The UUID of the tag to remove.
</ParamField>

## Response

Returns `true` on successful removal.

## Error Codes

* `401 Unauthorized` — Invalid or missing API key
* `404 Not Found` — Contact, tag, or assignment not found
* `500 Internal Server Error` — Server-side error
